Abstract

This contribution to GIFR 2022 advances the suggestion to ‘make Islamic finance halal trade’ as a key (in Arabic miftah, the acronym of the formula) for the future sustainability of the market, both in terms of its own legitimacy and its capacity to ‘save’ conventional capitalism from a destiny of exploitation of the resources of the global economy.
