Abstract

This series of 20 case studies focuses on patients with superficial skin tears treated with BeneHold™ TASA™ Thin Absorbent Wound Dressings in a primary care setting. This dressing incorporates a new technology combining the absorbency of hydrocolloid adhesives with the holding power, transparency, and thinness of acrylics. The efficacy of the dressing was evaluated in terms of wound healing, wear time achieved, ease of application and removal, pain on dressing change and patient and clinician satisfaction. BeneHold TASA dressings were found to be effective in the management of superficial skin tears. The dressing was well received by both clinicians and patients. BeneHold TASA dressings could potentially offer improved clinical benefits and time and cost savings.
