Abstract

We have heard much in recent weeks about the apparent impasse between the EU and UK concerning the outcome of the Free Trade Negotiations. As we are regularly informed through a series of leaks from ‘well-informed’ sources, there are three major areas of contention impeding agreement. Continued access by EU vessels to fish in British territorial water. The ability to implementsubsidies by the UK and willingness by the UK to abide by EU governance rules on, for example, worker rights and environmental standards after departure.
