Abstract
Assessment is an important activity which teachers and schools put a lot of time and effort into thinking about. This is also true for progression. There can seem to be quite a straightforward connection between assessment and progression, but in this article we want to try and problematise some of the thinking that lies behind what might seem to be, on the surface, a fairly simple set of ideas.
