Abstract

Commencing a new course of study very different from a current position can be challenging. In light of this, various approaches to pre-course preparation have been developed by higher education institutions with the aim of aiding students' transition from practitioner to student. Evidence is readily available to support their use, although specific evaluation of the methods used has yet to be published. The method chosen here utilises a virtual media platform to provide activities and information to support new students. This article results from an evaluation of the site after it has run for over a year. © 2013 MA Healthcare Ltd.
