Exploring the synergy of sound and light, rive is a multi-channel, immersive audio-light performance. Sound and light can both be described as travelling in waves. Different pitches and colours are achieved with different wavelengths, with white noise and white light respectively containing all pitches and colours. Using this parallel between white noise and white light, rive explores splitting sound and light into their individual components as they are spatialised around the performance space.
This specific performance uses the Moog System 55 synth for sound generation and was part of Moog Lab residency at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in conjunction with Supersonic Festival 2018.
