Abstract
In the following chapter, I will analyse the figure of the tomboy through the main protagonist, Jade, from the 2003 videogame Beyond Good and Evil, directed by Michel Ancel and produced by Ubisoft. I explore the ways in which humanist history has capitalised on binary categorisations to privilege certain subject positions over others, enacting a patriarchal society that creates clear differences between “masculine” and “feminine” traits.
