Abstract

This chapter provides an analysis of the transformation of corporate landscape in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) after 1989, from the perspective of the sustainable development goals. The argument it develops is that the neoliberal prescriptions to transform the socialist corporate landscape in CEE are so antithetical to sustainability goals that the corporations resulting from the transformation are pushing the reach of sustainability goals further away across the region than it was at the beginning of the transformation.
