Abstract

KNOWLEDGE OF FRICTION AND HEAT
TRANSFER is vital to the understanding and
operation of metal forming. Modeling and
numerical simulations are now extensively used
for optimization of the deformation during processing of metallic materials. This article examines traditional deformation processes and gives
consideration to the effects introduced by scale
factors when microforming.
